• The 2017/2018 Ultimate Sprintcar Championship NSW schedule promises a comprehensive list of wheel-to-wheel and wing-to-wing wizardry at Valvoline Raceway kicking off on Saturday, September 30.

It’s only a little over nine weeks until the new season blast off and excitement is growing.

Defending USC NSW and Ultimate Sprintcar Champion Robbie Farr has been working with his ECP Team to prep for another successful summer ahead.

The season marks the Sydney born Gold Coast domiciled Farr’s 28th year behind the wheel.

“It’s been a lifetime of racing,” Farr explains, “I’ve never had a period from when I started racing where I had two years off or anything, it’s been my life constantly since that moment. It’s what I do and what I love and I’m going to do it for as long as I can.”

The ECP Team are currently working on the hauler and prepping their motor and chassis package.

“Nothing’s changing in that regard,” Robbie says, “we’re staying with the Cool Chassis and Garrett engine package and looking to step things up further in 2017/2018. We’ve had a lot of success with this combination and we’re looking for more.”

Some 17 rounds of USC NSW will be held from the September 30 until April 7 including the fortnightly domestic action and the traditional blue-ribbon spectaculars.

The Scott Darley Challenge remains as Sydney’s most prestigious USC Sprintcar race and this year’s event on Friday, January 12 and Saturday, January 13 (2018) is no exception.

Throughout the season the Brian Healey Cup, the Sid Hopping Shootout, the Valvoline Australian Sprintcar Grand Prix and a new finals series for USC NSW will all be hallmarks.

The final three USC rounds will be known as Preliminary Finals, Semi-Finals and the final itself on April 7.

The USC Final round on Saturday, April 7 will be revolutionary this season with only the highest scoring 48 drivers from the USC NSW to that point being eligible to compete.

As excitement builds around the 2017/2018 USC NSW season the concept of “Development Sprintcars” has also been met with widespread enthusiasm.

Dates and information on the Development concept will follow soon.
