• The Management of the Murray Machining and Sheds Speedway at Murray Bridge is proud to announce that the venue will host two of the most prestigious Australian Championships in the sport next season as the track plays host to the 2018 National Championships for both Late Model sedans and Speedcars.

In what will be a massive month of Speedway for the Murray Bridge venue both events will be staged back to back in February with four nights of top class racing in just over 1 week!

The announcement that the venue would conduct the Australian Speedcar Title was made several months ago but the allocation of the Late Model Championship was only made official in recent weeks.
With the Late Model Title requiring a new home for the 2018 season, after the previous host declined to stage the event, the Management at Murray Bridge had no hesitation in putting in a submission for the National Title and they are extremely pleased that the submission was successful.

The Title will be decided between February 2 and 3, 2018 and it will be the first time that the Australian Late Model Championship has been held at Murray Bridge with Mount Gambier’s Borderline Speedway the only other South Australian track to have hosted the event.

In what will be a massive weekend of Speedway the final night of the Australian Title will also include the South Australian Titles for Sprintcars and Speedcars making it one of the best nights of racing for the season.

The second National Championship of the year, 77th Australian Speedcar Championship, is set down for the 9th and 10th of February 2018 with a field of over 50 drivers expected. A bonus is the fact that this event is “open” to drivers from right across the world therefore a whole host of American and New Zealand stars should be on hand to give the best Australian drivers a real hurry up.

Murray Bridge is regarded as one of the best Speedcar tracks in the country so the action over the weekend should be intense. This will be the first time this prestigious event has visited Murray Bridge since 2009 when American superstar Kevin Swindell secured the number 1 on the tail tank.

Further information on the above events along with the entire 2017/18 Murray Machining and Sheds Speedway calendar will follow.
