• Having been an integral part of the Premier Speedway Club since 2011, Lucas Oil recently advised the Club, via General Manager Jeff Pahlke, that the relationship would not be extended to include the 2018 Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic.

The company, Lucas Oil Australia, is undergoing significant change at present with the corporate distribution platform currently in place to be wound up by the end of 2017 and this has resulted in the termination of the agreement.

“Having taken the call from Jeff, who everyone here at Premier Speedway regards as a friend more so than a sponsor, I totally understand the position that Lucas Oil has taken and the situation that Jeff is now in”, Premier Speedway General Manager David Mills said.

“While disappointed we have lost a great supporter and sponsor of our event, we take some comfort from Jeff’s explanation that he and his staff could not have been more satisfied with the level of service we as a Club provided Lucas Oil since our initial agreement back in late 2010, which saw Lucas Oil were announced as the major sponsor of the 49th Australian Sprintcar Championship”.

“Since that time Lucas Oil have sponsored the Classic from 2012 through to 2017 as well as supporting the Australian Speedcar Championship and the recently held Australian Late Model Championship as well”, Mills added.

With Lucas Oil relinquishing the Naming Rights to the 2018 Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic, the challenge now for the Premier Speedway Club is to fill the void that has been left.

“They always say that as one door closes another opens, so I will put every effort in to securing a new partner for the Classic so that we can provide them with the same levels of promotion and coverage that we did Lucas Oil and continue to stage, what we feel, is the best weekend of Speedway in Australia and one of the best events in the world”, Mills added.

In closing the Premier Speedway Club would like to thank everyone at Lucas Oil for the amazing support as we wish all the current and past staff members, beginning with Jeff Pahlke and Andy Pearce all the best for the future.

    End Release.
