• The Sprintcar Racing Association of Victoria closed off the 2016-2017 season with the annual presentation dinner in Geelong that was once again a big night with so many awards handed out along with the final of the Eureka Garages and Sheds Series awards, the KTM Motorbike and Western Nissan 11th to 20th cash award that were drawn on the night with over one hundred and seventy drivers, teams, guests and season sponsors in attendance.

S37 driver Terry Kelly received the SRA of Vic Inc encouragement trophy.

Most improved driver of the year went to Brayden Parr, Brayden won this award last season but the committee believed his efforts were outstanding this season and has improved so much again that he is a very worthy recipient of the award.

The next awards were for the SRA 360 Sprintcar aggregate points score for the Victorian drivers only. Rusty Hickman took out first place in the aggregate with Paul Solomon finishing in second place and the current Victorian360 Sprintcar Champion Jordyn Charge took out third place.

Corey McCullagh’s performance throughout the season was good enough to net him second place and Brett Milburn picked up the third place trophy.

Club person of the year is always a tough award for the committee to decided with so many people that help out and make the SRA the success that it is, Adrian Parr was the deserving winning of the this award, Adrian and his business Parr Motorsports have been a part of the SRA for many years and is also a main sponsor to both the open and 360 Sprintcar events as well as a major sponsor for sprintcars at Premier Speedway, a deserving winner.

The Presidents award was the final of the seasons overall presentations, this award of recognition is for a person that showed so much commitment to the SRA, this season the award went to Western Australia’s Scott Reilly. The effort and commitment put in by Scott to be a at nearly all the SRA events this season after travelling from Perth each weekend was amazing.

David Steadman was on hand to represent Eureka Garages & Sheds as Domenic Sabatino was away on business overseas, David was joined by some of the Eureka staff personal to help celebrate the 14th running of the Eureka Garages & Series Sprintcar Series.

David was called upon to accept the award of appreciation for all the support given to SRA from Eureka Garages & Sheds over so many years.

Other Eureka Series sponsors attending the dinner were also presented with awards of appreciation before the Eureka Granges and Sheds Series awards were presented.

Mark Charge from Western Nissan in Caroline Springs was called to the stage to present the Western Nissan Series award of $1500 for the most cars passed in the A Mains of The Eureka Garages & Sheds Sprintcar Series to Tim Van Ginneken (Tim passed 37 in the A Mains)

The attending eligible drivers that finished between eleventh and twentieth place in the Eureka Series were called up for a chance in a random draw to win another $1500 from Western Nissan. Mark Charge drew the winning driver from the bucket before a process of elimination began until there were two drivers left
standing, Marks son Jordyn and the winner of the Avalon Raceway $250 draw David Aldersley, Mark handed Gavin he winning drivers name as the tension was building only for David Aldersley be announced the winner again for more of the money on the night, a good night for David!

With time ticking away the last presentations were about to take place before the drawing of one of the most sort after prizes in the Eureka Garages & Sheds Sprintcar Series, the KTM motorbike.

The Eureka Series third placed driver Corey McCullagh accepted his Eureka Garages & Sheds Series third place trophy and prize Poole money from David Steadman, next up was the Series runner up Tim Van Ginneken to accept his well deserved trophy and money of $5000. Then it was time to crown the 2016-2017 Eureka Garages & Sheds Sprintcar Series Champion for a second time Brett Milburn, Brett received the first place trophy and a major share of the Series prize poole of $10,000.

MC Gavin White spoke with each driver about their season that was then gave each driver the opportunity to thank all their team sponsors and thanks the Eureka Series Sponsors for yet another very hotly contested 206-2017 Series.

All three drivers were also presented with framed pictures thanks to Corey Gibson Photography before lining up for a few camera shots thanks to Corey.

With the nights presentation nearly at a close all eyes were focused on the award of the night, the drawing of the winner of the KTM 450 EXC 2017 motorbike thanks to KTM Australia and Jeff Leisk.

With all the eligible drivers from the top ten in the Eureka Series called upon Gavin gave the drivers a chance to say a few words and what it would mean to win this magnificent KTM. Each driver then had to select an envelope that contained a picture of each of the eligible competitor’s sprintcars.

A process of elimination began starting with the tenth place driver Charles Hunter to reveal and eliminate a driver. working thru the order from tenth to third place that saw Brett Milburn eliminated on the way leaving the last two eligible drivers for the KTM Motorbike, Tim’s envelope would eliminate one of the drivers leaving the winner in Brett’s hands, still in with a chance was Glen Sutherland and guess who? Tim Van Ginneken.

Just to spices things up a little more Gavin called both Brett and Tim to the front of the stage to open there envelopes at the same time for all in attendance to see before announcing the winner to two nervous drivers.

And the 2017 KTM 450 EXC Motorbike went to Glen Sutherland, and if you though Glen was excited when won his first feature race this season it was nothing compared to the excitement he display at wining a $15000 motorbike.

Glen was quick to thanks Jeff Leisk and KTM Australia along with his team for there efforts during the season.

Congratulations to all the award winners and thanks to all who attended for yet another great presentation dinner.
