• Rushworth Speedway has its final race date of the current season this Saturday night with the popular Super Sedans returning after their recent running of a Victorian title at the same venue in April, a smaller field this time nonetheless with the big powerful engines and tough competition still expected, 3 Litre Sedans and Grand Prix Midgets complete the list of visiting classes joining the local club heroes.

Bendigo’s Ash Bergmeier leads the Super Sedan nominations with Brad Wicks the Super Sedan club President and, Mick Nicola Jnr and Adam Box a Rushworth local likely to figure in the fight to greet the chequered flag at the end of the night.

In 3 Litre Sedan action, Lennie Clark and Kevin Clarke both from Bendigo will suit up to do battle with Daniel Wilson from the GV club with Victoria # 3 Andrew Ahearn also in the line up set to ruffle a few feathers. Scott Mallon from Victoria’s South West brings his Nissan Skyline to compete and it will quickly become a fan favourite as it does everywhere else it goes.

The Ironbark Classic concludes the season for the Grand Prix Midgets who just last weekend raced in South Gippsland. Australian Champion Trevor Perry and Victorian Champion and Shepparton local Mark Cecil are the most likely to lock horns, whilst Travis Florimell is looking to out gun them both. Paul Perry, Mooroopna’s Lisa Chalcraft and Goulburn Valley legend Dennis Myers are others that should be running at the front in the Classic.

Local class action winds up for the season with some of the classes in a real close tussle for the end of season top five positions. Expect more of the same from all the local divisions with Phil Lamb and Adam Box in the Opens, Chloe Lamb and Jacquie Fitzpatrick in the Ladies, Wayne O’Keefe, Shane Hutchins, Geoff Lee and Leigh Jeffery in the Productions and Josh Cecil and Lachie Fitzpatrick in the Juniors doing battle.

Racing begins at 4pm with entry costs adult $25, Family of 2 Adults and 2 Kids $60 whilst any child under 12 is FREE. Aged Pension is $15 and kids 12 to 16 $12.50 also
