• The USC Chase is on to Toowoomba!

This Saturday night the fourth round of the 2017 USC Ultimate Sprintcar Championship “Chase” Series is scheduled for Hi-Tec Oils Speedway Toowoomba and some of the USC’s stars on the rise and legends alike are lining up.

Tasmanian Shaun Dobson will make the big haul from the Apple Isle (his car is based in Sydney however) firm in the belief that he is a ‘Chase chance’.

“This is by far our most consistent season in terms of being a major race contender outside of Tasmania or Victoria,” says the Hobart based 24 year old, “we haven’t raced in Toowoomba for three years but I think we can achieve some positive results and keep ourselves in with a shot at the Chase Championship.”

Dobson, whilst confident in his own ability, is by no means complacent.

“You can’t go into any USC event expecting to win, that would be foolish,” he explains, “there’s too many guys who can get the win.”

Veterans Robbie Farr and Max Dumesny are a classic example of what Dobson is conceding.

Farr, the defending USC QLD Champion, is currently second in the QLD USC points and also second to Victorian Mollenoyux in the USC Chase standings as Toowoomba looms this Saturday night.

With the likelihood of Mollenoyux not attending Toowoomba the chance to nab the #1 spot after this Saturday night looms for the now Gold Coast based Sydneysider Farr.

Dumesny, the defending USC NSW Champion is currently 6th in the Chase points but there is every likelihood the Sydney based Victorian living legend can emerge from this weekend with the top three in sight.

Dumesny’s son Matt currently sits in seventh but with a few weeks off since the last round of USC Chase action the third generation racer is literally champing at the bit to get racing.

Sydney firebrand Sam Walsh lurks with major intent in third place after the first two rounds in Murray Bridge and Warrnambool (the third round in Sydney was rained out last weekend) and looks to pounce on the lead spot after this Saturday night.

Though he’s not in contention for “The Chase” as such Queensland hard charger Luke Oldfield will add some significant spice to the Toowoomba battle as points continue to count for the USC QLD battle.

Oldfield leads Farr, Andrew Scheuerle, Danny Reidy, Allan Woods, Kevin Titman and David Whell in the USC QLD Championship and that ‘battle within a battle’ will ensure there is twice as much on the line for Farr in particular.

There are only 50 points separating the top seven ranked drivers in the QLD USC battle.

When the things with wings line up Saturday night on the Toowoomba high banks two distinct Championships lay on the line:

    USC Chase Series

    Darren Mollenoyux 300
    Robbie Farr 284
    Sam Walsh 270
    Jamie Veal 262
    Shaun Dobson 250
    Max Dumesny 236
    Matthew Dumesny 170

    USC QLD Championship

    Luke Oldfield 452
    Robbie Farr 440
    Andrew Scheuerle 428
    Danny Reidy 410
    Allan Woods 408
    Kevin Titman 404
    David Whell 402
    Mitchell Gee 398
    Lachlan McHugh 390
    Brent Kratzmann 388

The remaining two rounds of the USC Chase are scheduled for:

Saturday, March 25 – Hi-Tec Oils Speedway Toowoomba
Saturday, April 1 - Valvoline Raceway
Saturday, April 8 - Valvoline Raceway
