After celebrating his 21st birthday only days prior Daniel Evans crossed the line well ahead in RD 10 of the Mainline Dynolog Dynamometers All Stars Series at Sunline Speedway, Waikerie.

In an exciting feature which saw Evans easily weave through lapped traffic, the war was being waged for the minors with Paul Solomon eventually holding off a fast finishing Chris Solomon and Cody Atkins in 4th. Young Jack Gartner produced the drive of the night charging from 14th starting position to finish 5th.

The night was a milestone for Sunline Speedway & the All Stars and the town showed their appreciation by packing the venue. Hard work by many of the Sunline Committee and helpers made this night happen. Track preparation was carried out by a band of volunteers including Chris Evans (Daniels Dad & retired sprintcar pilot) making his sons victory even sweeter. The crowd were treated to the “Waikerie Wave” at the start of the A and joined in enthusiastically with their headlights and phones. This was the largest field of Sprintcars to ever roll around the little track.

Mid markers were holding their own battle with each other and lap traffic with Darryl Guerin 6th followed by Kane Newcombe, Phil Lock, Andy Thompson and James Wren rounding out the top 10.

After winning on Friday night at AMP Mark Caruso didn’t have the night he wanted after flipping in his second heat and with some serious damage decided to sit the remainder of the night out. Jamie Hendry was another whose night didn’t pan out as hoped for and brought on the Reds after hitting the wall in Turn 1 sustaining damage also ending his night.

Oval Express Magazine Quick Time winner was Cody Atkins with a 15.163. For his efforts he picked up a 12 month subscription of Oval Express Magazine.
