• This Saturday night the 410ci Sprintcars return to Adelaide Motorsport Park for the first time since the controversial end to the 2016 Australian Sprintcar Masters. Unfortunately, only a small field of drivers have elected to run what will be round 3 of the Track Championship but the entry list does include the top three in the overall points chase with Matt Egel, Daniel Pestka and Steven Caruso set to battle it out for the top spot on the podium.

But after missing the opening round Brad Keller won’t be considering the points situation and he will be simply going for the win so he will also be a major threat on Saturday night. Others drivers to keep an eye on will include Brendan Guerin, Terry Pitt, Sam Putland, Shannon Barry, Lisa Walker and Northern Territorian Jamie McInnes.

The night will also feature round 5 of the JD Couriers Super Series – powered by Adelaide Computer Tax Service. The line-up is headlined by Ryan Alexander who will be searching for a history making fifth series round win a row but Paul Blenkiron will be hoping to go one better than his last start that saw the driver of the #22 Dominator fall just short of his maiden round win. The ever-consistent Michael Miller will also be a serious contender having finished on the podium in each of the previous four rounds.

The remaining entries include Steve Schwartz, who was fourth last weekend, Kym Jury, Whyalla’s Michael Brown, Anthony East, Daniel Obst, Kym Leyson and rookie Jason Gantz. Although not yet confirmed Michelle Dillon may also join as a late entry therefore making her Adelaide Motorsport Park debut.

A small field of Speedcars will also be on hand to provide their exciting brand of open wheeled racing including previous main event winners Jamie Crouch and Brett Ireland while the Street Stocks will also have close to a dozen cars in the pit area.

The final racing class of the night will be first and only appearance of the season for the small and nimble Modlites with over a dozen cars entered including Todd Bennett, Graham Knuckey, Scott Webb, Cory Hodgson, Duran Cowland and Brian Chadwick. New South Wales racer Chris Ferguson will also make the trek to Adelaide to take on the locals.

The action-packed evening will conclude with a crash and bash Demolition Derby with 15 crazy kamikaze pilots set to smash their way to victory in what will be an entertaining way to finish what should be a great night of racing.

The action kicks off with Hot Laps at 6 PM with racing getting underway at 6:30 PM. Gates open at 3 PM. Adult admission is $25, Family Pass (2+2) $60, Concession Card Holders $15, Students $10, children under 12 FREE.

    Adelaide Motorsport Park….It’s roaaaaar entertainment!!!
