• Two weeks ago Newcastle Late Model hard charger Nathan Disney scored his first Dirt Muscle Car (DMC) main event win in the new era of Valvoline Raceway.
Now the man they call “The Newcastle Nightmare” wants to give his rivals some more terror dreams this Saturday night in Round Two of the DMC.
“I don’t see any reason why we can’t back up the win from the other night with another one this weekend,” says the charismatic Disney, “the car was good last time we were there. Dad’s (Des) done a lot of prep work on it and let’s face it a lot of races are won in the shed.”
It’ll be far from a dream ride for the 38-year-old motor mechanic at Adamstown Car Doctors in Newcastle however as he seeks his ninth career victory in a field brimming with potential victors.
Clayton Pyne spent considerable time testing in Queensland during the week with his new Dominator car and dad Ron believes that he’ll be a much faster proposition this time around.
“We really didn’t have the car right at all last time out, so the testing has really changed all that. We’ll be fast this Saturday night I’m certain.”
An ultra professional two-car team from Healesville in Victoria is making its debut this Saturday night in 17-year-old Justin Pearson and former National Street Stock champion Daniel Barton.
Sporting a pair of lethal new XR1 Rocket chassis the team is headed up by Healesville Directional Drilling MD Justin Pearson and this weekend won’t be the last time they’ll head north to Sydney.
“We plan on coming up to Parramatta around late November and then again in late December when Devin Moran is racing up there,” explains Pearson, “we’re looking forward to it. This Saturday night will be a real toe in the water for us.”
Also making his 2016/2017 debut this Saturday night is the creator of ‘Grim’ Racecars, the stylish and always rapid veteran Darryl Grimson who will be a certain dark horse for main event honours.
The entry list this weekend boasts seventeen cars including newcomers Blake Lutiger, White Jr and Brad Giffen plus the established stars Nicastri, father and son combination Robert and Joel Carrig, Mackenzie, Pyne, Cassidy, Carter, Doherty, Fenech and Bink.
Complete entry list for Round Two of the DMC Series at Valvoline Raceway this Saturday night is:
