• Work carries on at fever pitch at the Murray Machining & Sheds Speedway Murray Bridge in readiness for an historic 2016/2017 season blast off on October 2.

Over the past few weeks the team has been busily working on a significant list of ground and facility improvements that will revolutionize the look and the running of the Speedway.

“The team has installed almost four kilometres of Vinidex fibre optic, speaker and electrical cable in the pits, around the track and up around the turn one and two hill. This has serviced camera positions for our TV clay-per-view coverage and the Giant Screen, plus also the ticket boxes,” says MMS Manager Tim McAvaney.

There’s also a state of the art computer server to run the fibre network.
From a race commentary point of view a new 40ft Commentary and Officials tower is being constructed to replace the original one.

New speakers are being installed around the grounds that are the same units and quality utilised by Adelaide Oval.

The new 40sqm Giant Video Screen has been commissioned and is almost completed where it is planned to be fitted out with switching and replay equipment in time for early September.

A fresh coat of paint throughout the facility including the venue signage is being applied.

A new USC “Show Car” is being readied for a wide range of promotional appearances throughout South Australia.

Two new promotional Utes are also now on site for various promotional appearances to increase the track’s PR presence in the entertainment and business communities.

“The team here are working flat out to instigate some fantastic infrastructure improvements and with support from our Sydney head office we have some spectacular promotional developments in the works,” says McAvaney, “it’s really exciting to see all these improvements going on. Fans, teams and sponsors alike are going to be as excited as we are.”

The first official race meeting of the 2016/2017 Murray Machining & Sheds Speedway is on Sunday, October 2, 2016.
