• A brand new chapter is written in Murray Bridge Speedway history this week as the first of many changes to the historic venue are made.

Now a part of the Madetoogo Group that owns Valvoline Raceway in Sydney and Hi-Tec Oils Speedway in Toowoomba the iconic SA track will be rejuvenated with an injection of funds, structural upgrades and marketing strategies.

“It’s an exciting time for Murray Bridge specifically but also Speedway in South Australia across the board,” says Valvoline Raceway Managing Director Steve Green, “we start implementing many of the new initiatives and structures into the track as of this week. It’s a period of endless possibilities.”

Many items are on the agenda.

The creation of the new track website is now completed. A new mobile enabled app for the three tracks, USC and Clayperview will be launched shortly.

The fresh feel and the all-important race dates have been approved and confirmed by the South Australian Sprintcar Association “Sprintcars SA”.

Race dates for all categories are being confirmed shortly with Steve Green stating, “Murray Bridge Speedway is about the sum of all parts. We have a steadfast commitment to all of the classes that have recently been employed to race at the venue. Our season will include all of the categories that raced last year. We’ll be announcing the dates very soon after we meet with the various Association delegates.”

The Giant Video Screen has been commissioned and is currently being built and readied for transport and placement.

Last week the positions for the placement and fitting of the fibre optic cables that will allow TV camera images to be switched to the OB truck and then broadcast worldwide on Clayperview.com have been determined.

The inclusion of SA Speedway Legend Nights will be announced soon with several former greats being honoured on various nights of the new season.

“The Legends Series concept we have rolled out in Sydney over the past two seasons has been tremendously successful. There are so many wonderful South Australian Speedway heroes that we plan on honoring in 2016/2017 and beyond,” says Green.

The announcement of a revamped and rejuvenated commentary and entertainment team and also commentary system will follow soon.

Speedway Manager Tim McAvaney and his assistant Bev Lloyd have been confirmed for the new season to retain their positions.

Plant and equipment will be brought into the Speedway to begin venue refurbishments.

Several USC Social media initiatives will be brought into South Australia including the popular “Inside the helmet” interview series and an increased emphasis on Facebook and Instagram.

With the countdown on for the start of the 2016/2017 season work behind the scenes is about to hit fever pitch.
