• After a break of close to a month the JD Couriers Super Series returns this Saturday night (February 13) at the Murray Machining and Sheds Murray Bridge Speedway with Round 11 presented by Blair Athol Auto Parts and Savage Shots. For the first time this season the entry list has reached double figures as the field will include two drivers who will be making their series debuts and a further two drivers who will be making a return to the series after a lengthy break.

Round 11 of the series comes on the back of the previous event that was staged in mid-January at the Westline Speedway at Whyalla. Unfortunately only 5 cars headed west for the Whyalla Earthworks supported meeting but the drivers put on a great show for the large crowd on hand.

Following three tough heat races, with wins going the way of Ryan Alexander (2) and local racer Michael Brown, it was Alexander who survived a torrid final to defeat Brown and Graham Stewart. Rookie Kym Jury finished fourth with Michael Miller being declared in fifth after being deemed as the cause of the stoppage prior to the final being declared.

Following their stint in Tasmania Ryan Alexander, Dave Gartner and Michael Miller have returned to the mainland and they will be keen to continue their domination of the JD Couriers Super Series. At the completion of the opening 10 rounds Gartner and Alexander have shared all 10 round wins between them (Gartner 6, Alexander 4) while Miller has been on the podium in all but two of the completed events.

Outside the top three South Australian Club President Graham Stewart has the next best record with two podium results and five fourth place finishes so he will be hoping to continue his consistent season this weekend. During the past few events Graham has really stepped up his performance winning a non-series event at Murray Bridge and finishing third at the most recent round at the Westline Speedway at Whyalla.

Local Murray Bridge based racer Paul Blenkiron will return for his first event since damaging his power plant in round 4 while Daniel Obst is back after missing the last four events. The field this Saturday night will be rounded out by veteran Robbie Marchant, Kym Hammerstein and rookies Kym Jury and Dylan Hannam.

For Jury it will be his third series start after making the transition from Dirt Circuit to Super Sedan racing but it will be first appearance at Murray Bridge while Hannam will be making his Speedway debut in the Robbie Stevens / Jenny Lemar owned #66 Camaro after moving up from Bitumen Karts.
