  • The 6th Lucas Oil Tyson Perez Memorial is being held at Borderline Speedway, Mt Gambier this coming Saturday, 13th February and there is an added bonus on offer as well as the $3000K to win.

    Tyson was always a bit of a larrikin and always liked a challenge and after discussion with his mother Debra we have decided to offer $1000 to the winner of the appropriately ‘Spuds Dare’. The offer will be given to the winner of the Pole Shoot Out to take up the chance of starting the 31 lap A Main from Position 11.

    If they make it onto the podium the money is theirs. If that driver does not take up the ‘Dare’ then it will be offered to the driver who finished 2nd in the Shoot Out. Deb tells us that the number 23 was apparently Spuds favourite number but obviously this number is out of the question as we only run 20 cars so we decided on 11 which was the month Spud was born.

    “With a great driver line up for Spuds Memorial the event is sure to be a spectacle. Travis Rilat has returned from the States for the 5th time to honour his mate and is also very focused on winning the show for the 3rd year in succession. But more importantly everyone will remember why we are there and that is to remember our mate who died way too young.” Promoter Mandy Searle tells us.
