  • COREY Hunter knows the step up to the main sprintcar competition in Western Australia in 2015-16 is not going to be easy but he is up for the challenge.

    “Consistency is everything…..to finish first, first you must finish,” Hunter said.

    After a couple of runs at the end of the 2014-15 season Hunter said it was definitely going to be harder running the AHG Sprintcar Series than in the 360 Power Series he has been involved with for two seasons.

    “Everyone in the 410s are a lot faster and a lot more consistent.

    “They have all been doing it for years and we have just got to learn it as we go.”

    Hunter said he was working on his fitness as a driver, something that is incredibly important given the physical demands the cars put the drivers under.

    “I also need to focus on car setups so we know what we are doing and how the car is reacting when we are racing it around on the track.

    “I would like to say we would finish in the top 10 for overall points hopefully and not have too many crashes.”

    Work commitments are expected to prevent the team from racing in the season opener at the Perth Motorplex on October 17 but they are planning on contesting the rest of the shows after that.
