  • “I ticked every goal I wanted to for Formula 500s and I went around Australia and did all that so I guess this is the next step.”

    That is the view of Andrew Priolo who is making the transition to sprintcars and looking to be competitive in the 2015-16 AHG Sprintcar Series that will be contested at the Perth Motorplex and Quit Bunbury Speedway.

    “I just want to try and have a crack and finish a lot of races, I know it’s going to be tough,” the second-generation sprintcar racer said.

    “I am not silly and thinking going sprintcar racing is easy and not thinking it’s going to not take time but definitely I want to finish races but at the same time I don’t want to be that guy just goes out there to finish races.

    “I probably will have a crack.”

    Priolo said it would be one thing if he was pushing hard and was still at the back of the pack but believed once he was comfortable in the car he would be competitive.

    He is one of the drivers expected to nominate for the first meeting of the season that will be held at the Motorplex on October 17.

    Nominations close with on the Motorplex website at midnight this Wednesday.
