Following the Northern Territory 360ci Sprintcar Title at Darwin’s Northline Speedway the Western Australian duo of Cameron Gessner and Ryan Farrell will enter the HB Concrete Australian 360ci Sprintcar Title as the guys to beat after dominating the two night event last weekend.

After winning the Preliminary A-main event on the Friday night, that doubled as the Bob Ekins Memorial, Gessner was well and truly on his way to making it a double on Saturday until a last lap pass by Farrell stole the Title away in dramatic fashion. Therefore both drivers finished the weekend with a win and a runner-up finish but Farrell emerged with the win that counted a result that Gessner will be keen to reverse this weekend.

Although they have been the standout performers in recent events they won’t have it all their own way as there are a number of other drivers showing great form up north over the past couple weeks.

In addition to the two drivers mentioned Luke Dillon will also be a major contender with the South Australian already recording two podium results in the three A-main’s he has contested in Darwin this season. Unfortunately Dillon was involved in an opening lap accident last Saturday night robbing him of the chance to contend for the Title.

The fourth major contender would have to be defending Champion Chad Ely who also has a win in Darwin this season having won the Darwin Title a few weeks ago.

But the interstate drivers will have defeat a strong local contingent with Ben Atkinson looking the most likely challenger after finishing third in the NT Title but the likes of Danny Porter, Troy David and Jason McIver have also been showing great speed on the newly surfaced race track.

So will Chad Ely defend his title, will a Western Australian emerge as the Champion, will Luke Dillon go one better than he did at Bunbury or will a local Territorian claim a huge home town win? Make sure you are track side this weekend at the Northline Speedway this weekend to find out!!!
