• Riding the momentum from a very strong showing at the Knoxville Nationals, Kerry Madsen and his Keneric Racing/American Racing team earned their first World of Outlaws win of the season on Tuesday night at the Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, NE.

“It was a relief to finally get our first series win of 2015,” Madsen said. “The guys have worked so hard all year and we have been very close, so this feels great. I am happy to get this for our car owners back home as well as for all the people at American Racing Custom Wheels and all of our product sponsors and manufacturers.”

Getting off to a great start on Tuesday night, the St. Marys, NSW driver timed the American Racing Custom Wheels backed No. 29 machine in third fastest before finishing fifth in his heat race, and fourth in his qualifier.

By way of his qualifying efforts, ‘The Mad Man’ would get in the Dash, and get the jump on Donny Schatz as he earned the right to start the feature event on pole as he raced to the Dash win.

When the green flag waived on the 30-lap feature event, Madsen was hard on the throttle as he built an early advantage until the race’s lone caution flew on the 11th lap.

Keeping his composure under the stoppage, Madsen would not skip a beat when the action resumed as he went on to lead the remainder of the race as he fended off Joey Saldana and Donny Schatz to do so.

Heading to the River Cites Speedway on Friday night a 15th best qualifying effort would turn into a heat race win and a Dash berth for Madsen and his Keneric Racing/American Racing team.

Finishing fifth in the Dash, Madsen would grid the field from the third row for the feature event. Turning in another strong run, Madsen ran in the fifth spot for much of the feature event.

A late restart would go south for Madsen, and he would lose a few positions and fall back to the eighth spot where he went on to finish.

Sunday night close a three-race week, and it would be the wildest night of racing of the three.

After setting the standard in qualifying time-trials, Madsen would finish fourth in his heat race and again move into both the Dash and Feature Event.

A third place feature in the six-lap Dash would place Madsen in the second row for the “A” Main.

Running inside the Top-Five during much of the race, Madsen would get out of shape and nearly spin his American Racing/Keneric Racing entry out, but would save it though he fell back to the eighth spot.

With cars seeming blowing tires every other lap, Madsen would work his way back up inside the Top-Five late in the race.

The final restart of the night saw ‘The Mad Man’ make a move for the second spot, but like other’s, his machine would sputter as it was low on fuel and he would end the night in the sixth spot.

“We had tremendous speed all week long, and I was certainly happy with that,” Madsen said. “We had a Top-Five car on Friday but a late restart hurt us, and on Sunday night we had a car capable of a podium but an extremely wild race saw us run out of fuel. I have to thank all of my guys for their continued hard work, the Gavranich family back home in Australia, as well as the people at American Racing wheels for their continued support.”
