Morrison Racing ended their season at Nyora Raceway with twelve year old Ally Morrison & her step sister ten year old Holly Strickland having a skid in their XF Falcons with Ally taking the day’s win whilst Holly enjoyed the thrills of being a first time Sedan racer having come back to racing after finishing Quarter Midget racing a couple of seasons back.

For Ally the win at the final event of the season for Junior Standard Saloons just added to what a great year she has had which included a third place overall in the Junior Standard Saloon eight round state series supported by Bob Jane T Marts.

In the very same series, Ally was voted most respected driver by her peers, her car was voted best presented & her father promptly stole the trophy since it's his race car. The best presented was awarded partly because whenever it was bent, the family got the car straightened up and rolling again for the very next event, this included a complete race car reshell at Christmas time, when everybody else was preparing to eat Pork & roast vegetables.

Morrison also finished fifth in the state title at Drouin Speedway, a club the family is a member of which was one of the more memorable events for her with many of her South East Melbourne and West Gippsland area family & friends being able to attend.

Holly has been busy with Calisthenics, a more petite passion of hers in recent years after having a stint in the Quarter Midgets at Avalon for a little while & at Nyora she equipped herself well getting a little extra confidence after each heat race before finishing the final.

Mum, Sharon Morrison was very proud of both the girls on race day & through out the year. "We couldn’t ask for a better family than what we have & a great bunch of friends also. Dale & I are so proud of all the girls (three between them); however Ally has had a wonderful season. We are most proud of the other drivers voting her the most respected driver, & then again at this final meeting she gave up her race car for a race so that a young girl all the way from Swan Hill could have a race after her car broke & for Holly, she did so well in the car after spending most her last couple seasons dancing her little heart out."


Next season's plans include Dale (Morrison) racing, Kellie Jenkins & Sharon Morrison racing, Ally racing & Holly if she would like to in between dancing. Standard Saloon racing gives everybody a chance to race & that will take up the majority of the team’s race weekends, however Dale has interest in racing Unlimited Sedans/Sports Sedans this coming season.
