• Redline Raceway’s season closed on Sunday the 17th of May with a great day for club members & fans from around the area to sit back & enjoy some fun & hijinks with drivers not taking things as super serious as they usually might with wins coming to locals Karen Ferguson & Anthony Wilson & club member Leigh Bourke along with Brad McClure & Hayden Clifford.

Street Stocks are the biggest supported division at the Redline Speedway facility in way of drivers & fans & with next year’s Australian Championship set for the venue, the numbers look like increasing during this five month break from racing. Rocky Grima, Nathan Dunn, Megan Cheeseman & Brian Patterson won heat races whilst Dunny had a rollover in the next race after winning his earlier heat.

Ferguson went on to win the final in a ladies quinella with Cheeseman second & Redline’s Jamie Crutchley finishing third.

Victorian Speedway Council Open Sedan racing was competitive & fast with Redline member Leigh Bourke taking two heat wins whilst Colin Tate took the other before Bourke was able to beat home buddy Zac Swanson & Tate in the final.

The national Speedway Sedan divisions competed together under the Open ASCF Sedan banner with a few Street Stock competitors joining the Production Sedan & 3 Litre drivers on the day. Victorian Street Stock champion Brad McClure came out on top in the final defeating Darren Giacometti from the Redline club & Brooke Ferguson. Earlier McClure won both the heat races held.

Standard Saloon racing was very competitive with four heats held to allow each driver to compete in two & Hayden McCabe & Tim Hutchinson won a heat each whilst Mark Seller won two. In the final a winner came from outside of the heat winning drivers with Clifford taking the flag ahead of Redlines Hutchinson & Hanna Domburg.

Finally completing all the days’ main races the Formula V8 Sedans two heats were won by Anthony Wilson before he again went on to win the final over Luke Stanley & Wally Hucker in what has been a great season for Wilson winning almost every race he started.

A wives and girlfriends race at the end of the day also included a rollover & whilst the drivers were fine & the cars a little beat up, the fans went home pretty happy with the entertainment.
