If there’s one thing I know from being around racing my whole life, it’s that racing isn’t always easy.

Waking up this morning I’m looking back on yesterday and the highs and lows of it all.

We went down to the track early yesterday and had some cool photos taken of Daniel’s and my cars at the Speedway. It was fun to have some photos taken with Nan and Pop too with one of the photos ending up as the Valvoline Raceway facebook background pic for the afternoon.

Dad had spent the last month at least working on making last night happen with our two cars so we were all very excited about making it a memorable one.

Despite all that effort things didn’t pan out like any of us had hoped last night though with both cars suffering engine problems early in the night.

I could see the look of frustration on Dad’s face. It means so much to him to do well and last night was just heartbreaking for all of us.

I know that Daniel and I were both disappointed too because we really wanted to do well.

It had been so long since I’d raced and I was really keen to get some laps in.

Thanks to Michaela Dumesny I was able to have a good interview with her on the Giant Video Screen and thank our team for all their effort.

Today we pull down the cars and clean them up and assess the damage. It’s a massive effort to put one car on the track let alone two.

I have an exciting day coming up next weekend that I have to look forward to so I’m focusing on that now.

I really want to thank Mum and Dad and everyone who supports our team and I feel more determined than ever that next season is going to be a memorable one.
