• Jackson Delamont’s Sydney Sprintcar season came to a crunching finish last Saturday night, March 28 at Valvoline Raceway when a spin after contact from another car left him stranded in the middle of the track and was collected by another car, bending the chassis.

    The team now have a busy few days ahead of them as they prepare to attack the Easter Sprintcar Trail in Victoria and South Australia this weekend.

    “I would like to thank Chris from CSR Fabrications for all of his help this week in the lead-up to going away this weekend. He has been a massive help,” Jackson said.

    In a tough night for Jackson, he also lost fifth place in the track championship due to not finishing the B-Main.

    “It was disappointing to lose fifth,” Jackson laments, “it would have been good to wrap it up but we had a win the week before which was good. We didn’t focus too much on the points all season and we as a team look to get the positives out of everything we do. We have to look at what we achieved in the latter half of the season”

    As Jackson’s season draws to a close, it has been an exciting second half for the livewire from Young, NSW.

    “We definitely stepped it up from last season. We took some time early in the season to get dialled in but once we did, we showed everyone what we are capable of. We travelled this year and had some great results. Fifth at Avalon was awesome, especially after leading Daryn Pittman for a lot of the race.

    “At the Classic, if it didn’t rain, I think we had a great shot to make the A-Main but I think what really turned our season around was the 3rd place at the Darley event. It was a massive confidence booster. Coupled with the win two weeks ago, it’s been a really good season that we are happy with.”

    With the Sydney season over, the focus turns to this weekend’s Easter Sprintcar Trail. An impressive field has nominated for the event which always serves up top line Sprintcar racing.

    “We are really looking forward to getting back there. I am always keen to get to Warrnambool. At Avalon, we have made the A-Main four times from five visits and despite me not feeling comfortable there, we always do a good job. Finally, Mount Gambier is a cool little track. It is super-fast and I think we can put in a good showing.

    “I would like to pass on my thanks and congratulations to Barry Waldron and Steve Green on what they have done with Valvoline Raceway this season. They have turned the place around and it is an absolute pleasure to race there week in week out.”

    There will be Facebook updates throughout the Easter weekend so if you can’t be trackside, make sure you connect on Facebook.

    Jackson Delamont Motorsport would like to thank the following for their support of the 2014/15 season;
