THERE will be an added incentive for drivers who win the first two rounds of the AHG Triple Crown (tonight and next Saturday night) at the Perth Motorplex.

The winners will automatically be seeded into the Top 8 Knockout that will be contested in the last race of the season on April 18.

If we have two different feature race winners in the next two shows then it there will only be six other spots up for grabs in the final Knockout round.

The last round of the mini-series also carries double points, encouraging teams to run all three shows.

Tonight’s round is the Firecracker John Day Tribute Night that will be followed by the DiCandilo Steel City Silver Cup and the Merger Contracting Grand Final.

To spice things up there will be a change to the format for the three shows.

Instead of drivers doing hotlaps/qualifying in seeded groups at the start of the night they will do hot laps in groups and then do individual time trials over two laps each.

After the heat races there will be the Wormall Civil Knockout to the pole where the top-qualifying drivers will fight it out to see who will start on pole in a series of two-lap knockout bouts.

The feature races in the Triple Crown will all be contested over 30 laps.

The feature race on the first night will pay $2500 to win, with $3500 to win on night two and $4500 to win on night three.

On top of that the driver with the most points at the completion of the mini-series will receive a $2500 bonus, with second receiving $1500 and third $1000.
