• By his usual standards, Blake Skipper has had a quiet start to the season. At the last completed show back in November however, he found some car speed which was a vast improvement. Using the last few weeks to make sure things are right, Blake is itching to get back on track.

It all ramps up this Friday, Boxing Day, when Blake, along with fifty other Australians, will take on American superstars Jac Haudenschild, Brad Sweet and Tim Kaeding. It will signify the beginning of a busy two weeks that will see Blake and the team compete in six nights of racing in just 11 days.

“I can't wait to race the American’s from Boxing Day onwards,” Blake says with a smile.

“Having two weekends off has really refuelled mine and the team’s passion for the sport. We can't wait to get out there in the next few weeks and really have some fun racing against some legends of the sport.”

The calibre of drivers that will be competing at Valvoline Raceway is a challenge that Blake is relishing.

“Racing against the wild child (Jac Haudenschild), well that's something you dream of. Last summer I got to race against the King Steve Kinser and now Jac. It's such a cool sport to be involved in and hopefully get to run wheel to wheel with him for a few laps.

“Having the two weeks of has hopefully prepared us for the big Christmas period and should hopefully be ready to roll and have some fun in the next few weeks.

“The guys on the crew have been working overtime to give me a great car and I really can’t thank them enough. It really feels like we have started to turn a corner with our car speed.”

From Boxing Night onwards, Blake enters a busy phase of the season. Competing at Valvoline Raceway on December 27, December 30, January 1, 3, 5 and culminating in the Scott Darley Challenge on Friday and Saturday, January 16 and 17.
