Blake Skipper completed another competitive night at Valvoline Raceway last Saturday night, November 22.

In time trials, Blake managed to post his best time so far this season, and set a time that was only six tenths off the quickest time of the night.

“It was a step in the right direction,” Blake said, “It is extremely tough these days, especially in time trials, but due to our improved pace, we performed well and we qualified for the B-Main. “

During the B-Main, a multi-car pile-up threatened to ruin Blake’s night, but quick, evasive action saved any damage.

“Yeah it was a close call in the B-Main,” Blake reflects, “I could see it all unfolding in front of me and I had to spin to miss the crash. Unfortunately, we had to go to the rear of the field for the restart. We had real good pace in the B-Main, but with only a handful of laps left in the race, it made it hard to come back. I think we would have qualified for the A-Main had we not been caught up in the accident.”

Blake will now have another week off with no Sprintcar racing in Sydney now until Saturday, December 6. After that show, the USA invasion begins, with everything kicking off on Boxing night.

“We have one more meeting before Christmas and we will be trying a few different things set-up wise at the next show. Hopefully we will find that sweet spot over the big shows too. We would love nothing more than racing the Americans hard and show them and everyone else just what we are capable of.”
