• After a short break out of the seat Jamie Hendry returned to action last Saturday night at the Sunline Speedway, Waikerie as he contested Round 4 of the South Australian 360ci State Series which doubled as the Scotcher Race Fuels & Oils Sprintcar Stampede. Despite a lack of track time this season Hendry was extremely impressive all evening as he secured a podium result as he drove his Murray Muscle Therapy / Hendry Concrete Solutions #42 Maxim to a third placing in the 25 lap decider.

“I was stoked to finish on the podium at Waikerie. The event was supported by Peter Venn at Scotcher’s who is a valued sponsor of mine. After all of the trouble shooting we had to do in the lead up to the event following our tough opening night to the season the result was extremely rewarding for the entire team” added Jamie following the event.

After a disastrous start to the season at Speedway City in late October the team had been working overtime in the recent weeks to prepare the car for the Waikerie event.

“After Adelaide we went through the entire fuel system, we pulled off the tail tank to check the pick-up, replaced the fuel filter, the power steering pump and the spark box hoping that we had found the issue. Throughout the night the issue once again caused us a bit of grief, especially in the pole shuffle, but with the slick track in the final it didn’t really hurt us too much”.

With the State Series utilising time trials Jamie timed in third quick and then moved forward in both heats to finish the heats inside the top three in points before dropping a spot in the pole shuffle.

“I had a really enjoyable race with Dan (Evans) after getting the jump on Nicole (Hill) and it really became interesting in the lapped traffic but I just couldn’t find a way through. Full credit to Dan, and race winner Brendan Quinn, they both drove really well”.

With the World Series Sprintcar tournament just around the corner the team will now transition to the 410ci car in preparation for Boxing Day at Speedway City. In the meantime Hendry Motorsport will also work closely with Pete Morris from Maxwill Motors to get on top of the issues prior to their next 360ci outing

Hendry Motorsports would like to thank Carisbrook Collision Repair Centre, Scotcher Race Fuels and Oils, Showtime Signs, Muzza of Murray Muscle Therapy, Hendry Concrete Solutions (HCS), Horrible Haulage, Peter King Ceilings, Holden Design Engineering, Maxwill Motors and Phil Michell Motorsport Media.
