• It is week four of the 2014/2015 season at Ausdeck Patios Archerfield Speedway this Saturday night (October 25) and it will be the V8 Dirt Modifieds taking centre stage for their first outing of the season.

David Clark, the current Australian Champion, Queensland Champion and Five Star Series champion, heads the entry list, which also includes two-time national titleholder and current New South Wales champion Andrew Pezzutti and a multiple state championship winner in Kevin Britten. Both Clark and Britten have competed in the United States during the Australian off-season, which might prove invaluable when the going gets tough, which it invariably does in the ultra-competitive Dirt Modified ranks. However, Pezzutti is perhaps the most experienced Dirt Modified racer in the field and he will most certainly be hard to beat. Amongst those looking to upstage this triumvirate of champions are the likes of Geoff Phillips, young gun Mitchell Gee and the experienced trio of Scott Conlin, Ray Klarich and Barry Ashen.

Formula 500’s have grown in leaps and bounds over the past season or so and this weekend they have 18 cars nominated for round two of the Tyrepower 600 Super Series. Opening round winner and current Queensland champion Dale Shilleto returns in a bid to expand his points advantage, with some heavy hitters such as Charlie Brown, Kaydon Iverson, Kristin Brown, Cody Maroske and defending series champion Ryan Skennar, who missed the opening round on October 4, also amongst the starters.

As always seems to be the case, the Modlites are out in force again this weekend with 25 cars nominated for competition in round two of the Western Landscape Supplies/David Grose Real Estate Driver to America Series. Opening round winner Terry Leerentveld is just one of many potential feature race victors, which includes current Australian titleholder and former national Super Sedan champion Jamie McHugh. After failing to finish last time out – exiting in a cloud of smoke - McHugh will be primed to make amends and return to his rightful place somewhere near the front of the field. Quite remarkably, young Lachlan McHugh will be on hand able to take the challenge to his father. After collecting two heat wins in round one, McHugh Jnr exited the feature on the opening lap in a wild wreck along the back straight that caused significant damage.

AMCA Nationals are also making their first appearance for the season with Northern Territory champion Nick Stubbs taking on a strong field of challengers from Queensland and New South Wales.

Also on the program are Compact Speedcars and the opening round of the CRS Electric Series for Lightning Sprints featuring yet another state champion in Queensland supremo Scott Genrich.

Dirt Modified nominations: David Clark, Scott Conlin, Murray Flay, Kevin Britten, Andrew Pezzutti, Andrew Shilletto, Mitchell Gee, Brian Scott, Dallas Czerwinski, Barry Ashen, Ray Klarich, Paul Crossley, Geoff Phillips, Steve Verboot

Tyrepower Formula 500 nominations: Dale Shilleto, Cody Maroske, Kaydon Iverson, Scott Farmer, Nick Potts, Brooke Wanless, Bayden Ellston, Blake Hancock, Tristan Johnson, Kristin Brown, Ryan Skennar, Charlie Brown, Adrian Farrell, Royce Harvey, Davo Muir, Nick Scholes, Bryn Upshall, Grant Harvey
