• The 2014/15 speedway season will kick off at the Tolmer Speedway, Bordertown this Sunday night (5th of October) with a total of eight classes taking to the Bullring, with racing set to kick off at 5pm. Super Sedans, Street Stocks, Junior Sedans and AMCA Nationals complete the tin top line-up while the Speedcars, Wingless Sprints, Formula 500's and Lightning Sprints will provide the open wheeled action. The Murray Bridge Speedway will run their opening night prior and the two night spectacular has attracted several Victorian drivers.

Although it is an all section event the Speedcars and Super Sedans are clearly the leading categories with some of the best drivers in South Australia set to compete. The Speedcars will have a classy field on hand as they prepare for the Speedcar Pro Series event next month with the likes of Brock Hallett, Lee Dillon, Nathan Squiers, Todd Bennett and Darryl Knuckey all nominated along with former Victorian Champion Paul Farrell.

After a successful return to the venue last season the Super Sedans are also set to impress again this weekend with Penola’s Dave Gartner taking on Paul Blenkiron and the hard charging Luke Dodding.

In an added incentive each of the competitors have been offered a cash bonus (with the exception of Junior Sedans) for any driver who can clean sweep the weekend by winning the features at both Murray Bridge and Bordertown Speedways in their respective classes. If a driver is successful he/she will pocket a bonus $500 for their efforts. 'The $4000 cash incentive has been put up between the two clubs, and there are several South Aussies more than capable of pulling off this feat' said Bordertown Speedway club member Brad Tink. 'Add to this some money loving Victorian racers, and the speedway season will fire up like never before'.

The Sunday race meeting is the first of four for the popular country club. November 21 will see the venue host a round of the National Speedcar Pro Series, which is a huge boost to the club after gaining a round of such a highly profiled series. December 13 brings the 410 Sprintcars back when the South Australian Sprintcar Series hits town, while April 3 next year will kick Easter off with Bordertown holding the South Australian 360ci Sprintcar State Title.
