• Lee Dillon is the latest speedcar driver to be offered a contract for the exciting second season of the Speedcar Pro Series.

Dillon, the 2009 South Australian Speedcar Champion, is eager to race a full-schedule over the summer, with the Speedcar Pro Series being his key priority.

In recent years, Lee Dillon has taken a break from the driver’s seat. Dillon’s time at speedway tracks around Australia has been consumed working on his brother’s (Luke Dillon) sprintcar and working in Perth for Pigdon Motorsports.

The South Australian speedcar driver is set to draw upon his experience gained behind the scenes and put it to use as a contracted driver in the Speedcar Pro Series.

“I’m really excited to be back racing again and doing something a little different after spending so much time involved with sprintcars for the past 10 seasons or so,” said Dillon.

“I’m looking forward to racing at the tracks in Western Australia - I haven't raced at any of them before.

“I’ve been to all of the Western Australian tracks, working on other people’s cars, so hopefully that will help us out a bit.”

Lee Dillon identified the Grand Final in Warrnambool, on Friday 2 January 2015, as his most eagerly anticipated round of the series.

“I can’t wait to get to Warrnambool – it’s probably the best track I’ve raced at in the past,” said Dillon.

“In January, when the weather is warm, the Warrnambool track usually gets really wide.”

Lee is stepping into the driver’s seat of his Uncle Stephen Dillon’s Breka S9 car from Adelaide - Stephen’s son, Ben, is taking a break away from the sport.

A very competent sprintcar driver and former Australian Formula 500’s champion, Lee Dillon’s return to competitive racing is a major coup for the Speedcar Pro Series.

Stay tuned for more team contract announcements in the upcoming weeks.
