• Whyalla’s Westline Speedway will rock and roll to the sounds of V8 powered warfare this weekend (Saturday 13th of April) when a strong field of 13 mighty AMCA Nationals will invade the city of steel for round 3 of the Aspire Homes AMCA SA Series.

After two hard fought rounds the competitors will enter the third round of the series with plenty of gusto as they will be on a mission to continue to build on their points score for the prizes and glory up for grabs at the end of the year.

The competitors list will be headed by Ryan Alexander who is in hot to trot form this season but he will have to work hard to collect the victory as drivers such as veterans Brian Chadwick and Maris Valodze always show a good turn of speed on the smooth surface of Westline. Other drivers to keep an eye on will be Danny Prade who scored his first feature race win last weekend at Speedway City, the returning Michael Ffrench and it will also be a home coming of sorts for current point score leader Mick Brougham who grew up where the desert meets the sea. The Victorian Champion Darren ‘Plugger’ McCarthy will also feature at the pointy end and the field and this round will also consist of two fast females as Nicole Hill and Tegan Martin will be going strong with the girl power and also two local Whyalla Warriors keen to defend home track pride in Michael Brown and Travis Latterini.

    Series Top 5 Point Score:
    1 Mick Brougham - 355
    2 Raymond Hedley - 345
    3 Mark Horsburgh - 340
    4 Danny Prade - 335
    5 Michael Brown - 325

These and other drivers in the mix will ensure that this round of competition will be one not to miss. ‘We look forward to going bush this weekend, Whyalla is a popular track and one that we enjoy visiting and I would like take this opportunity to thank Robbie and Jenny for inviting us back to their venue.’ said AMCA SA rep Mr. Peter Gunn.

In addition to the AMCA Nationals the 360 Sprintcars will be featured on the card and with the things with wings showing up with also a strong car count the venue is expected to draw a large crowd of locals and those from the surrounding districts.
The series is proudly backed by naming rites sponsor Aspire Homes and has been graciously supported by Signs On Para, Waterloo Wreckers, ULX110 Proven Blend Oils, Sprint Auto Parts Salisbury, Savage Shots and also special thanks to Scotcher Race Fuels and Oils for their continued support of AMCA SA.
