• Saturday 18-02-2012 Monster Trucks - Adelaide Showgrounds

A near capacity crowd of people from all ages and demographics witnessed a spectacular night of Monster Truck action presented by the Gotta Getta Group at the Royal Adelaide Showgrounds. The show was really well run and presented with a very polished presentation.

A huge total of 9 Monster Trucks were in attendance; 8 Monster Trucks battled it out in competition and it was the most Monster Trucks the Adelaide fans has ever seen! Bat Man, Extreme, Scooby Doo, Monster Patrol, Devils Taxi, Leroy, Raptors Rampage and Taz all competed in the race and jump competitions. Raptors Rampage and Taz both flipped over / crashed in spectacular style bringing the crowd to a roar.

It was advertised in lead up to the event that the Devils Taxi would be attempting to break the world record for the longest wheel stand in a Monster Truck. The existing record was 81 meters and on his third and final pass he smashed the record by an estimated 20 meters.

The other Monster Truck at the event was Buster who was in his own fenced off area out the back of the main grand stand and he was used for taking the many fans on joy rides, giving them a great experience to see and feel what it really like riding so high form the ground.

Other on field activities included 3x Jet Cars, Car Dominos, Free Style Moto X, Quad Bike Racing, Demolition Derby, Radio Controlled Cars, Vehicle Parade and a Fireworks Spectacular to finish the evening.

Activities for the fans before the event included Monster Truck rides in Buster, Jumping Castle, Free Pit Party / meet and greet with the drivers of the Monster Trucks, AMF Bowling for kids and show rides, etc.

While it may not have been a Speedway orientated evening there were some Speedway aspects to the evening which included Jesse Arthur's Junior Sedan in the opening grand parade, a good old fashioned Demolition Derby and many Speedway identities which included Mark Gilbert, 'JD' John Dawson, Clarry 'The Clown' Jones, Darren Disbury, Jason Gerlach and The Women For Wheels fire and rescue Crew were just a few of the people who were their working in a form of capacity.
