After a massive pre-race preparation regime, the all new Coates Hire Bunbury Speedway will explode on Boxing Night for the annual Smokefree WA Sprintcar Grandslam. With WA’s best drivers travelling south to test the new clay surface, big things are being tipped to happen foe the track’s first true sprintcar test run for the season. 16 nominations are in concrete with the top names ready for war including none other than newly crowned state champion, David Priolo. After a great win at Kwinana 4 weeks ago, he is keen to sink his teeth into the new clay at Bunbury. “We’re really looking forward to it and can’t wait.” Track Promotions man Andrew Roberts has been pleased with last minute preparations to get the venue race ready in such a short time period. “We have been going flat out to get everything ready for the public in the last several weeks. The Coates Hire Team have been instrumental in helping us achieve this.” Several new enhancements have happened, not just the new surface, including the upgraded catch fence and track wall height. Also grandstand relocations for better public viewing to cater for sprintcar hungry race fans looking to get their fill after a long while away from racing activities. A bumper crowd is expected for the Boxing Night show down and with a pleasant 32 C weather forecast, a better night out couldn’t be asked for. Racing Gets underway at 7pm. See you all there
